What we collect

Page requests are logged by our web server and by Cloudflare, which caches the site, for security and capacity, including IP address, user agent and the URL requested. We use Google Analytics, in aggregate, to count visits and see which pages are used; it sets first-party cookies for that. We do not sell personal information.

Tools

The bulk lookup tool runs entirely in your browser. The list of ZIP codes you paste or upload is never sent to us. The radius and address tools send only the search terms needed to answer the query. The "What is my ZIP code?", "What county am I in?", "What area code am I in?" and "What time zone am I in?" pages send your location once, inside the request rather than in its address, to find the ZIP codes around it; it is not logged or kept. A street address typed into those pages goes the same way, and on to the Census geocoder to find its ZIP code.

Advertising

This site shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's certified consent message before any advertising cookie is set, and can change that choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

If you create an API key or buy a dataset we store your email address, your plan, and per-month request counts for your key. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card number. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing [email protected].
